How CNoL Works

Events

CNoLLab

Four times a year, CNoL organizes moments for evaluation, co creation and connection.

A lab, but also an invitation to collab.

CNoL chooses a theme proposed by the sector and explores it together with the sector. CNoL uses a similar working method as during the launch. This can be accompanied by an info session and an informal moment for meeting. Here you will also be the first to hear what is being decided at the Culture Advisory Council and there is also the opportunity to communicate your own wishes and concerns through the network.

CNoLedge

CNoL offers a relevant training program for the cultural sector. In time, CNoL intends to facilitate grant writing tables and provide informative sessions on key topics such as non-profit legislation, EU grants and other relevant topics for the sector.

We also map out existing initiatives and communicate them to the sector, keeping everyone informed of relevant developments and opportunities.

CNoLounge

An easily findable place, mailbox, clubhouse. CNoL is at the LOV office across from Expo Leuven (former ticket counter of 30CC). You can always drop by, but it is best to make an appointment to make sure someone is there. Specific days you can drop by are communicated via the newsletter or Open Creatives. You can come here to talk, sign up for Open Creatives, have a chat, share your story or give advice on what the network should do.

Exchange

CNoL helps cross-organizational initiatives to persist within the new network and offers them the space to shape consultations in new ways. Instead of imposed structures, CNoL tries to allow initiatives to grow from the bottom up. In addition, CNoL is committed to the succession of the previous cultural consultation structures and helps watch over the transition of the former district councils towards the new cultural network.

Open Creatives

Open Creatives is a new platform aimed at raising the visibility of the cultural sector. It not only provides a way to share events and initiatives for and by the sector, but can also become a valuable platform for knowledge sharing. The big work for this year is to get as many cultural organizations and artists on the platform as possible.

CNoL encourages everyone to sign up, as the platform offers future opportunities for disseminating calls, events, and other important information.

Who is CNoL for?

Everyone who actively contributes to Leuven culture is welcome.

CNoL wants to unite cultural, heritage and arts organizations, as well as artists and cultural professionals, the more than 300 members of the previous culture dome and the sub-councils, interested ethnically and culturally diverse organizations (EDOs), art schools (SLAC, Lemmens, LUCA School of Arts, ... ), existing networks or communities in the cultural sector (such as the Erfgoedlabo or Leuven Leest), educational organizations with a focus on culture (such as the KU Leuven Culture Department or cultural student organizations), expatriate cultural initiatives, culture-conscious neighborhood initiatives, new cultural initiatives, and so on. This enumeration is not finite, but is used as a starting point.

Official recognition from the City of Leuven is not a requirement to be part of the network. Anyone who contributes to culture is welcome. Anyone who registers themselves or their cultural organization on the new Open Creatives platform automatically belongs to CNoL.
